Chad Hales is an attorney at the Law Office of Robert E. Hales. After thirteen years at two large law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area (Morrison & Foerster and Cox, Castle & Nicholson), Mr. Hales joined his father, Robert E. Hales, and his brother B. Scott Hales, to practice business and family estate planning, trust establishment, trust settlement, trustee counseling, and probate. Mr. Hales serves clients throughout California.

Mr. Hales' past experience involved representation of clients in a variety of commercial litigation settings, at the administrative, trial court, and appellate levels. His case experience included representation of developers, utilities and power marketers, and public entities in breach of contract, unfair business practice, declaratory relief and other actions, in both state and federal court. Mr. Hales also had extensive experience representing clients, including public entities, in litigation brought under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the California Endangered Species Act (CESA), the Planning and Zoning Law, the Subdivision Map Act, the Mitigation Fee Act, and the federal Endangered Species Act.

Mr. Hales’ experience allows him to provide clients with advice on a full range of available options for achieving their litigation objectives.

Mr. Hales is admitted to the California State Bar, and is admitted to practice in all state courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California.

Mr. Hales lives in Southern California with his wife and five children.
